The Widowed Parent Relief Project (WPRP) is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most meaningful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the WPRP website and governs data collection and usage specific to donors, volunteers, and the families we serve. By using the WPRP website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of Personal Information

The WPRP website collects personally identifiable information, such as your name, e-mail address, home or work address, and phone number.  There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by the WPRP website. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used by WPRP for the operation of the service, to maintain the quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding the use of the WPRP website. WPRP utilizes third-party connections to administer data collection and payments.  WPRP encourages you to review the privacy statements of these providers to understand how those websites collect, use, and share your information. WPRP is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the WPRP website.

Use of Your Personal Information

WPRP collects and uses your personal information to operate the WPRP website and deliver the services you have requested. WPRP may also contact you to share news or solicit information or support.  WPRP does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.  WPRP may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis or send you email or postal mail. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services for WPRP, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. WPRP keeps track of the websites and pages our customers visit within WPRP, in order to determine which of WPRP’s services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within WPRP to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. WPRP website will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on WPRP or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of WPRP; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of WPRP, or the public.

‍Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.

WPRP will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. WPRP encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how WPRP is protecting your information.

DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

This section of our Privacy Policy relates specifically to donors.

This Donor Privacy Policy applies to the collection of information, including information collected on our website. By submitting your information to us or any of our staff, you consent to the terms and conditions of the policy and to our processing of personal information for the purposes stated below.

Personal Information

“Personal Information” is information that identifies you personally, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, birthdate or other identifying characteristics.  We collect and store personal information that you share with us or that is available from public sources. Below are examples of ways in which we may collect your information:

• When you request information via one of the email addresses identified on our website, or otherwise contact us in person, by phone, or email, with an inquiry.
• We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, and other contact information if you register for and/or attend an event.
• We may collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, and payment information when you make a contribution, either on our website, over the phone, by mailing in a check, or any other manner in which you might make a contribution.
• Information about your charitable gifts 
• Responses to donor interest surveys
• Responses to donor demographic surveys

The above list provides a sample of ways personal information may be collected by WPRP. From time to time, we may collect personal information from you in ways not described above.  WPRP restricts access to personal information to only those employees and volunteers who need to know that personal information to provide our services to you.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

WPRP respects and values the trust you place in us when you give us your personal information and is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of our donors’ personal information.

• We will not trade, share or sell a donor’s personal information, collected on the website or through any business activities, with anyone else, except under the following circumstances:
  
  • Contact information for donors is shared with the fundholder for stewardship purposes.
  • Information will be shared with governments, law enforcement or other legal entities, as required by law.
• Donors may opt in to share testimonials with WPRP, which may be featured on WPRP’s Blog, website, or other publications.
• We will collect payment information, billing address, and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration.
• We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of the law or comply with legal process served on us, protect and defend our rights, or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others.
• We will use your personal information to protect against potential fraud. We may verify with third parties the information collected in the course of processing a gift, event registration or other donation. If you use a credit card, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address match the information that you supplied to us, and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.

Except as described in this Donor Privacy Policy or at the time we request the information, we do not otherwise disclose your personal information to any third parties. Further, WPRP will not sell or trade your personally identifiable information to any third parties.

Security of Information

WPRP is committed to protecting the security of your personal information and will take reasonable security precautions to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, we cannot guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply won’t be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the internet.
