Live out James 1:27 in your community
Partner with WPRP to care for widowed parents and their children in tangible, life-changing ways. Together, we can ensure no family in your congregation or community faces grief alone.

The church's call to care for widows
Refer families in need
Connect widowed parents in your congregation or community with WPRP's programs. We provide the long-term, specialized support that complements your church's pastoral care
Recruit Family Friends and volunteers
Invite members of your congregation to become Family Friends, volunteer at events, or serve in other meaningful ways. Your church can be the source of volunteers who walk beside grieving families.
Host awareness events
Invite WPRP to share our story during a service, small group, or special event. Help your congregation understand the unique challenges widowed parents face and how they can help.
Provide meeting space
Host support groups, workshops, or events at your church facility. Your space becomes a safe place for healing and connection.
Include WPRP in missions or benevolence giving
Support WPRP through your missions budget, special offerings, or ongoing financial partnership. Your investment keeps our programs free for families in crisis.
Mobilize your congregation for events
Encourage families to attend Family Friendzy or other WPRP events. Partner with us to host awareness campaigns or fundraisers that engage your entire church community.
Pray for widowed families
Commit to praying regularly for the widowed parents and children we serve. Prayer is powerful ministry, and we invite your church to intercede for these families.
Churches are essential partners
You're often the first place widowed families turn for help, and your ongoing pastoral care combined with WPRP's specialized programs creates powerful, holistic support.
Why partner with WPRP
Your church may not have the specialized resources or long-term capacity to provide comprehensive support for widowed parents - and that's okay. Partnership with WPRP allows you to extend care beyond what your staff and volunteers can sustain alone.
Questions about church partnerships
Not at all. Churches of every size can partner with WPRP in meaningful ways - whether through referrals, volunteer recruitment, or financial support.
Our Parent Care program (Family Friends) currently serves East Tennessee counties, but Parent Connect and Parent Community are expanding nationally. Churches anywhere can refer families to our virtual programs and support our mission.
No. WPRP was founded on Christian principles, but we partner with churches across all denominations and traditions. We welcome partnerships with any church committed to caring for widows and orphans.
That's wonderful. WPRP complements your existing ministry by providing specialized, long-term support that goes beyond immediate crisis relief. We can work alongside your benevolence team.
Yes! We'd love to share our story, educate your congregation about the needs of widowed parents, and invite people to get involved. Contact us to schedule a speaker.
Simply connect the family with our contact information and encourage them to reach out, or (with their permission) send us their information and we'll follow up directly. We handle referrals with sensitivity and care.
Never. We see ourselves as partners with the local church, not replacements. Your pastoral care, spiritual community, and ongoing support are irreplaceable. WPRP provides specialized programs that complement what you're already doing.
Absolutely. Small groups can volunteer together, sponsor a family, host fundraisers, or learn about WPRP's mission and pray regularly for widowed families.
It's flexible. Some churches give one-time gifts, others include WPRP in their annual missions budget, and some host special offerings. We're grateful for any level of support.
We'll keep you updated on our impact, share stories (with permission) of families being served, and provide information about how your church's support is being used.
