Get involved

When you give your time, skills, or platform to WPRP, you become part of a community that stands beside widowed parents in their darkest moments. There are many ways to get involved - find the one that fits you.

Volunteer

Make a difference with your time

Volunteers are the heartbeat of WPRP. Whether you're helping at events, providing administrative support, or using your professional skills to serve families, your time makes a tangible difference in the lives of widowed parents and their children.

Adopt a Family

Walk alongside a family as a group or individual, dedicating long term or short term support.

Other Ways to Volunteer

Help with Family Friendzy and other events, provide childcare during support groups and workshops, assist with administrative tasks and operations, offer your professional expertise (legal, financial, counseling, etc.), support fundraising efforts and community outreach.

Family Friend

Walk beside a Widowed family

Become a Family Friend and provide consistent, one-on-one support to a widowed parent and their children. This is more than volunteering - it's a meaningful relationship where you show up, help with practical needs, and become a steady presence during one of life's hardest seasons.

What family friends do

Commit to at least one year of support, help with home repairs, yard work, and household tasks, provide childcare or companionship for kids, assist with transportation and errands, offer encouragement and a listening ear.

What you'll gain

The privilege of walking beside a family through grief toward hope, deep friendships that often last long beyond the program, the joy of seeing children thrive when their parent has support, personal growth and perspective that changes how you see the world.

Ways churches partner with us

Refer widowed families to WPRP programs, recruit Family Friends and volunteers from your congregation, host awareness events or fundraisers, provide meeting space for support groups, include WPRP in missions giving or benevolence support, or allow WPRP to speak with your ministry groups.
