What to Expect
Understanding You, Understanding Them: Personality, Parenting & Grief
Have you ever wondered why one of your children wants to talk about everything, while another needs space? Or why what comforts one child may frustrate another?
Join us for a special Parent Connect conversation with Kelsie Orrico, a certified family therapist, as we explore how understanding personality types can give us greater insight into ourselves and our children—especially as we navigate grief together.
Before the event, participants will receive a Myers-Briggs personality assessment to complete for themselves, along with guidance for exploring their children's personality types.
During our time together, Kelsie will help us explore how different personalities may communicate, process emotions, respond to stress and experience grief differently. We'll talk about how your own personality influences the way you parent and how understanding your child's unique personality can help you better connect, communicate, and support them.
Come ready to learn something new about yourself, your children, and the way your family navigates life and grief together.
No perfect parenting required - just come as you are, ask questions, and join the conversation with other widowed parents who understand.
Event is open to all widowed parents with dependent children in the home and our Family Friend volunteers.
RSVP through Parent Connect to receive your Personality quiz for you and your children.
